Common questions regarding Yorba's inbox scan feature

Updated over 6 months ago

Does Yorba store my emails or part of it?

Yorba will only scan your inbox for sign-up emails and automated mailing lists to infer the existence of potential accounts that sent them. We pull minimal data from the headers but don't save or store any context of emails, body, or text. Just enough to create the relationship record in Yorba.

Does Yorba scan my spam and trash folders?

No, we will only scan your primary inbox.

How often does Yorba scan my inbox?

During your initial setup, we run a deep scan going back two years, and then we run periodic scans each week, which will show up in your weekly insights email.

Why do I see some duplicate account results?

Yorba identifies potential accounts from your email inbox by scanning for sign-up emails and automated mailing lists (e.g., newsletters), which allow us to infer the potential existence of the accounts that sent them.

We go wide and cast a large net to start, but sometimes, we bring in results not associated with an online account.

To address duplicate or inaccurate results, on the Pruning step, discard any entries that don't pertain to online accounts, duplicate accounts, or stuff you think got mixed up in the scan but is not a real or active account.

If you don’t have time to discard inaccurate results before importing them to Yorba, you can always remove them from the Account Manager by visiting the logins, fees, or mailing lists tabs.
